Landlord Safety Certificates
The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 place the obligation on private landlords to ensure that any electrical installation in their property is compliant and safe for the use of the tenants.
Electrical installations must be tested and deemed safe before a tenancy commences and retested within a five-year period depending on the type of installation and equipment, domestic installations include, electric showers, electric ovens and hobs, extractor fans and lighting (luminaires).
